Shoreline Substantial Development Permit Application. The Town of Steilacoom has received an application for a Shoreline Substantial Development Permit at Sunnyside Beach Park (2509 Chambers Creek Road) for parking lot improvement project to sealcoat, restripe, and re-sign the parking lot, and to replace the single-throat ingress/egress with single lane ingress and single lane egress lanes. The Planning Commission held an informational workshop on the application on August 14, 2023. The Town Council approved the Shoreline Substantial Development Permit on September 5th. Work may not proceed until 21 days after the date of filing with the Department of Ecology, which was September 6, 2023.
Street Setback Reduction Application. The Town of Steilacoom has received an application from the owner of 615 Lafayette Street for a street setback reduction to the average street setback existing along the same side of the street and within the same block, under SMC 18.20.020 (c). The administrative decision for this application is found below. There will be a 10-day appeal period, after which the preliminary decision will become final.
